If you ship packages on a semi regular to regular basis, having a dedicated digital shipping scale is important for accurate weighing, time and money savings. If you print postage from your home or business, your package preparation has to be exact. If you under weigh the item, then this will cause delays in the shipping process until proper postage is paid for. This of course will cause arrival delays to your customer or recipient, leading to unnecessary grief and wasted time.

Specialized shipping scales are "specialized" for a reason.  It's important that you don't use other household scales for shipping purposes. Standard home scales don't normally have high enough weight measuring capacity or the high level of accuracy. They also don't provide a wide enough platform to support larger box sizes often used for
